Establishment of Parliamentary Committee on National Security
It was PPP’s government that established a parliamentary government on National Security. This was an important feat in Pakistan’s history as it created a committee wherein all civilian and military leaders joined hands to counter national security threats faced by Pakistan. Over the course of time, the committee has gained prominence and is of utmost importance to Pakistan given the security challenges the country faces.

Three D policy
The three D policy adopted by PPP’s government—Dialogue, Deterrence and Development—was effective in appeasing all stakeholders in terrorism-afflicted areas, countering militants’ nefarious designs and executing socio-development projects to defeat poverty and illiteracy. It helped establish the writ of the government throughout the country.
